How does Lenny Kravitz look so young as he turns 60? The rock legend just released new album Blue El

The video shows the fashion-savvy musician lifting heavy weights at the gym, donning a pair of leather pants, a mesh shirt, a pair of boots, and of course, sunglasses. Who needs to be practical when you can be so stylish!

The singer’s trainer, Dodd Romero, told Us Weekly: “He doesn’t do cardio in leather pants, but if he’s going to go to the gym and get a little [work] in, he’ll just wear whatever he is wearing. Then, he will go and shower and change into new clothes. He’s different. He really is Lenny all the time.”

The four-time Grammy award-winning artist just released his latest album Blue Electric Light on May 24, too. Kravitz said in an interview with Forbes: “This record is fun. It was fun. It’s a celebration. It’s positive. It’s sensual, it’s sexual, it’s spiritual. It’s got all of the things that I love dealing with.”

He debuted the music video of his second single “Human” earlier this year in March, where he once again bares his abs, rocking his famous leather pants. There’s no denying he’s got an impressive physique, especially given his age.

So how does he maintain his finely sculpted, tattooed bod as he enters his 60s?

What is Lenny Kravitz’s workout routine?

In a 2020 interview with Men’s Health, Kravitz said, “My best shape is not behind me, it’s in front of me right now. We keep moving that bar as we get older.”

Kravitz claims that he owes his impeccably chiselled physique – complete with washboard abs – to his active outdoor lifestyle on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. A typical day will see him cycling around the island, paddle boarding and walking, according to GQ Australia.

He has also been working with personal trainer Dodd Romero since the late 1990s, with their workout regimen incorporating plenty of cardio and weight training sessions, five to six days a week.

Raw diets and cutting out sugar

Kravitz said in previous interviews that he is very conscious about what he puts in his body. Following a strictly plant-based diet, Kravitz takes it a step further by opting for a predominantly raw diet when possible.

According to GQ, he has experimented with long periods of eating exclusively raw food and completely cutting out fruit sugars by only eating vegetables. He reportedly still indulges in the odd carb-laden cheat meal though – usually bread, pasta, pancakes or waffles.

To maximise and guarantee the nutritional value of his meals, he also farms and harvests fruits and veggies himself on his properties in Brazil and the Bahamas – but we expect nothing less from the bohemian artist.

Organic skin care

In 2020, Kravitz revealed a rather unusual ingredient in his full-body skincare routine: sand from the Bahamas. “It’s very, very, very powdery, very, very fine,” he told Vogue. “So when I’m in the ocean, and I want to scrub my body, I use the sand.”

Other than his enviable method of exfoliation, the face of YSL Beauty told the magazine that he prioritises consistency and all-organic ingredients such as coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter.

The 60-year-old’s all-time favourite skincare product, according to the Vogue interview, is Dr Bronner’s Almond Pure-Castile Liquid Soap. “I wash my body in it. I wash my hair with it. I washed my clothes in it,” the rock star admitted.
