August is going to be an electrifying month for K-pop lovers, with a legion of stars including BBGirls and Mamamoo+ gearing up for album and single releases.
BB Girls (August 3)
BB Girls, formerly known as Brave Girls, are set to release a new song under their new label Warner Music Korea.
Brave Girls were created by the Brave Entertainment company in 2011 and rebranded in 2016. The group catapulted to fame in 2021 with the belated success of their 2017 summer anthem, “Rollin’”, but Brave Entertainment said in February that the quartet – Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji and Yuna – decided to part ways with the company.Many fans were anxious that the group would disband, but the members soon revealed that they had signed exclusive contracts with Warner Music Korea, a subsidiary of the American global music conglomerate. The group were renamed BB Girls.
BBGirls took to Twitter last week to unveil a teaser notifying the release date of their new song.

Mamamoo+ (August 3)
Mamamoo+, a subunit of K-pop girl group Mamamoo, are also expected to roll out their first mini-album, Two Rabbits, on August 3. The subunit consists of members Solar and Moonbyul.According to their agency RBW, Solar and Moonbyul will attempt to “chase two rabbits” by captivating both their fans and the public.
The pair unveiled “Save Me”, one of the tunes to be included in Two Rabbits, on July 18. It ranked No 1 on the iTunes top songs chart in 10 markets including Taiwan, Singapore and Cambodia upon its release.
“Save Me” is a sentimental track highlighting the singers’ vocal brilliance and it centres on the theme of solitude. Moonbyul took part in penning its lyrics.
“The two members actively participated in the creative process of their new EP,” RBW said. “They will boast their broad musical spectrum.”

TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho (August 7)
“Reality Show will carry six tracks of different genres that will grab global fans’ attention,” the 37-year-old’s record label, SM Entertainment, said in a statement. “The singer contributed a lot of ideas to produce his mini-album, which will portray his distinctive musical world.”
In addition to the aforementioned stars, The Boyz are set to drop their second full-length album on August 7, more than three years after the release of Reveal in 2020.
Girl group StayC’s new album will also drop on August 16. Member J said in a recent interview that their new track will be about the mindset of the MZ generation – a term referring to millennials and Gen Z.Two days after StayC’s comeback, Jihyo of K-pop girl group Twice will make a solo debut with her mini-album, Zone. The EP will be fronted by the lead single, “Killin’ Me Good”, according to the singer’s management company, JYP Entertainment.Jihyo is the second Twice member to go solo following Nayeon, who dropped her first solo mini-album, Im Nayeon, last year.K-pop boy band Vanner, the winner of the survival show Peak Time, are poised to make a comeback next month, but the exact date has not been announced.
